When I was 10 years old, I used to enjoy riding my bicycle in our neighborhood, which has many hilly streets. One day, I was at the highest point of the street, getting ready for a fast ride down. And suddenly, while I was at the middle of the hilly street, I noticed that my bicycle's break stopped working! I was so scared because at the end of the street, there is a busy intersection. During that quick moment, I only had two choices, either to through myself off the bicycle towards the pedestrian area, or to take a risk and continue riding down wishing the intersection would be free of cars. I decided to through myself off the bicycle, and I got several scratches and bruises over my arms and legs. The worst part of the incident, the intersection was free of cars!!!
This would have been so scary! And I'm sure that if you had decided to stay on your bike, the intersection would have been full of cars! Something like this happened to me with my car. I was going down a steep hill and I hit ice. My brakes would not work and I was sliding toward a busy intersection at the bottom of the hill. Luckily, I was able to turn my car onto a side road which slowed my car down. i will never forget how helpless I felt!
